Congratulations to Professor Gaines

Dr. Gaines accepts a tenure-track position at Spelman College

Dr. Michelle Gaines joined the lab in 2015 in search of developing her research program to the point of being competitive for faculty positions. She took on some ambitious projects (some worked and some did not) but her hard work paid off this week when she was offered a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA.

Michelle worked on projects with our long-time collaborator, Dr. Alberto Fernandez-Nieves, an outstanding soft mater physicist. Her success is in great part due to Alberto's leadership and guidance of aspects of her projects.
