Dr. Barker is promoted to the rank of Full Professor
Dr. Barker was promoted to the rank of Full Professor in late October. Now on to the next thing... building the Virginia Fibrosis Institute @ UVA.
ASMB Awards
Congratulations go to John Nicosia and Dwight Chambers who each received one of only a few ASMB travel awards at this year's Biannual meeting in St. Petersburg, FL. Both were selected from a strong competitive pool of other abstracts/posters at the meeting which was as scientifically rich a meeting as there is in ECM biology.
Dr. Barker also brought home the Iozzo Award; the top research prize for mid-career scientists in the field of Matrix Biology.
The Barker lab had a great showing at the meeting and hopefully turned some eyes onto what we've been up to the past two years. We can't wait for the 2018 meeting!
